First and foremost, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your comments, messages, texts and emails on last week’s post. My family and I greatly appreciate your continued love and support. We tackled a lot of firsts this long weekend, and while there is still plenty to be thankful for, it was certainly a draining weekend. We were grateful for our time with family but also our quiet time at home. We decorated our family tree on Sunday and added all of our favorite ornaments that Kevin had collected and gifted over the years.
Zara Jacket (old, similar here with tweed trim) / J.Crew Lace Peplum Top / J.Crew Lace Pencil Skirt (wearing a 0P) / Sam Edelman Heels / Clare V. Fold Over Clutch / J.Crew Factory Earrings (these would make a perfect stocking stuffer!) / MAC Lipstick (Dark Side)
I had every intention of telling you about how almost all of these items are on sale (both for Black Friday and Cyber Monday), but here we are, the Tuesday after all of the sales. So now I’m just going to talk to you about how I’ve been stocking up on pieces to mix and match for all of our different events this holiday season. Since I tend to gravitate towards neutrals, I look for different patterns and textures to add to my wardrobe. Lace is one of my favorites, especially for the holidays.
I dressed this peplum top down for Thanksgiving with my favorite pair of denim. It’s one of those pieces where you instantly feel more polished when you throw it on, which I love. I bought the lace pants from J.Crew last year (shop the J.Crew Factory version here) and have gotten a lot of wear out of them so when I saw the top and skirt version, I couldn’t resist. This combination is definitely a contender for our work holiday party this year paired with some statement jewelry and a sequin blazer. I also can’t wait to wear the skirt with a plaid button up.
